Who we are
FirstSeed is a for-profit company, operated by [legal entity name]. It is not a charity or a nonprofit organization.
The $25 application fee
- Each application costs $25. One fee covers one application to one program for one quarterly cycle.
- Applying to two programs means two applications and two fees. Applying to the same program in a later cycle is a new application with a new fee.
- The fee is non-refundable, whether or not your application is selected.
- If you pay during the last 10 days of a quarter, your application is credited to the next quarter's cycle of the same program. The form tells you this before you pay.
- If the cycle your application is waiting on never opens, your application carries forward to that program's next quarter with no new fee.
- Application fees are FirstSeed revenue. They never count toward any program's funds.
Contributions
- Contributions are not tax-deductible.
- When you choose a program, your contribution stays with that program. Money never moves between programs.
- A contribution first fills the program's current cycle up to its goal. Anything beyond that is held in the program's reserve for future cycles.
